Level I -- "First Class Attention" Workshops: Limited to 6 dog and
handler teams. 9am-5pm, includes lunch and DVD recording for review and
analysis. Auditors welcomed.
Purpose: To teach both the owner and his/her dog how to pay attention
to one another so that they can experience clarity in a smoother relationship.
The morning session will focus on teaching owners how to observe their own dogs
(as well as other dogs) more usefully and more objectively.
Four basic behavior classifications,
five keys for reading dog behavior, and the rules of the
flight/arousal zone are explained and applied. Observations will be
made and practiced on live dogs and DVD video reviewed. reviewed.
The afternoon session will focus on teaching owners how to structure their dog
training sessions. The unique training exercises involved in the
Seven Training Samurai (Exercises) and beginner stand/sit/lie down
training will be explained, demonstrated, and practiced.
Owners are encouraged to continue to attend Level I -- "First Class Attention"
Workshops until they and their dogs master the concepts taught in the workshop.
Note: this workshop is a prerequesite for all Level II Workshops.
